The Acrylic Painting course combines 3 sections and 15 lessons on painting with acrylic paints on canvas.

In this course, each participant will learn the basics of working with acrylics through step-by-step simple lessons and the support of a teacher.

We will get acquainted in detail with the features of this artistic material, talk about different styles, create paintings on various subjects – landscapes, still lifes, abstraction, etc.

As a result, each student will gain fundamental knowledge for further work with acrylic paints and create future masterpieces!

COURSE PROGRAM

LESSON 1. LECTURE ON STYLES
We will learn about the practical application of acrylic, the most popular styles of this material. We will talk about the differences between oil and acrylic paints, find out which paint to choose for different purposes.

LESSON 2. OVERVIEW OF MATERIALS
Choose the most convenient format and type of surface. Learn about the differences between canvases and alternative surfaces for painting with acrylics.
We will learn which brushes are better to buy. What is the difference between different forms and how many brushes you will need.
We will learn what auxiliary materials and tools for acrylics exist.
Let’s talk about bres and paint manufacturers and compare them with each other.

LESSON 3. APPLE
Let’s paint the first scene with acrylics. Using a simple form, we learn about such concepts as light, shadow, and reflex.

LESSON 4. FOREST LANDSCAPE
We paint an atmospheric foggy mountain landscape in a limited palette using only 2 shades. We learn how to make a spectacular work using only tone and contrast. We work with a sponge to create smooth foggy transitions.

LESSON 5. ABSTRACT
We learn to be inspired by non-trivial things, to invent a color scheme, to analyze and supplement in the process. We talk a lot about color balance, the importance of hiding power and tonality of paint
We work with a palette knife, sponge, brushes and even pencils, and learn to combine techniques and methods of abstract painting.

LESSON 6. BALL DOG
We work in an unusual format. We draw a decorative image in a limited palette. We learn to work independently with a realistic image, pre-analyzing and creating an algorithm for working with colors and layers of paint.

LESSON 7. BOTTLE
We work in mixed media with palette knife and brushes. A limited palette and a clear algorithm for working from dark to light. We learn to convey the effect of a glass surface.

LESSON 8. STILL LIFE OF FIGS
We finalize the composition based on the reference. We remove the “superfluous”, learn to add elements to the work that will emphasize the chosen subject. We learn what impressionism is, why it is needed in the work, and what color is best for it. We learn how to work with acrylic glazing.
